If you have not had the experiences of going to the Fredericksburg’s Farmers Market, you have to “check it out!” They have many of the local farmers with their finest produce and fresh from the gardens and fields. We have some great soils in the county with good minerals. The grapes, peaches, wildflowers, and variety of vegetables all seem to love it here in this soil.

They also have entertainment and music for all to enjoy. Food and drink can also be enjoyed. A pizza oven making pizza, wine, beer, and other food for your pleasure are also there for our pleasure. It is so much fun to mix and mingle with friends, strangers, locals, and tourists. See you there, I HOPE…

The Fredericksburg Farmers Market is held on Thursdays May through September 4-7PM at Markplatz on West Main at North Adams.

While Fredericksburg, Texas is home to a vibrant arts community with many art galleries, musical performance groups, sculptors, and artists of all types, it is also the home of a regional community theater company. Presently finishing its fifteenth season, the company has announced its Season 16 lineup of shows and concert offerings that will take this company to a whole new level of entertainment, education, and inspiration for the population of the Texas Hill Country. The company currently resides at the Steve Shepherd Theater located on Hwy 87 South right outside Fredericksburg. The facility seats 250 patrons and boasts a state of the art sound and lighting system. Recently given and “excellent” rating by 18 visitors in the “Trip Advisor”, the theater has become a destination for numerous visitors from Austin and San Antonio. The Season 16 lineup features “Honk” as the summer musical, “Wait Until Dark” as the fall drama, the “1940′s Radio Show” as the Christmas show, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” as the winter show, and “Moonlight and Magnolias” as the spring comedy. In addition, two concerts are being offered with Mr. David Gashen appearing in August. You might know him better as the Phantom in the legendary “Phantom of the Opera” in which he played the lead role on Broadway for six years. We are also happy to announce a concert offering by “Mango Moon”. They are a small but very effective ensemble which offer everything from classical to Celtic, to Jazz. Fredericksburg Theater Company is another jewel in the crown of this community known as Fredericksburg, Texas.

From Tony Stevenson SWBC:Avg rates for 30-yr & 15-yr fixed mortgages fell to fresh record lows this past week: 3.84 % for the 30-yr & 3.07 % for the 15-yr. Question remains: “will they go down further?” That is a hard question to answer. I tend to watch the markets for clues. For example, when the DOW does well, rates tend to go up as investor are purchasing stocks. However, when the DOW does bad, investors tend to invest in Bonds and MBS’s (mortgage-backed securities) which can cause rates to drop. My advice to future home buyers is to watch the markets but, you will do well to find a Mortgage provider and Loan Officer who can advise you when to “lock-rate”. Are they always right? No. But, how much more do rates have to drop to get real buyers into the market? Right now, there are serious home-buyers out there because they know that now is the time to buy as home inventories are good and rates are at historically low levels. And guess what else? Mortgage Lenders are loaning money!
