Texas Mesquite Art Festival this weekend in Fredericksburg Texas

Woodworkers from across the state will gather in Fredericksburg to present their artistic creations using mesquite wood at the annual Mesquite Art Festival, this weekend at the Marktplatz on the 100 block of W. Main St. This juried event provides the public with the opportunity to view fine craftsmanship, most available for purchase — art pieces, furniture and uniquely designed items. Hours are Friday, October 8 from noon until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9 from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 10 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Admission is free. Also included will be clinics demonstrating specific techniques for working with mesquite, safety information and discussion groups — all to foster woodworking skills for generations to come. For more information, contact the Texas Mesquite Association at 830-997-8515 or visit www.texasmesquiteassn.org.
