The City of Fredericksburg passed an ordinance amending the text of the zoning ordinance relating to bed and breakfast operations on September 16, 2013. The goal of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council was to determine the areas of the City best suited to bed and breakfast/guesthouse use and to determine limitations in some areas of the City. With a history of bed and breakfast operations going back some 40 years, these businesses are an integral part of the fabric of the City of Fredericksburg.
Part of the ordinance established a Bed & Breakfast Compliance Use Permit, which took effect immediately for new projects coming online. All existing B&B/guesthouse operations within the city limits have until May 1st to complete the permit form. There is no fee associated with this permit process. If you are a part of a reservation service, please contact your reservation service first.
The full ordinance and the B&B compliance use permit can be found on the City of Fredericksburg website at http://www.fbgtx.org.
