There’s a new Ballerina in Town!

Like many mothers with young children running around, my days are filled with the excitement of trying to keep up with my soon to be 5 year old daughter. Her teachers describe her as a child who acts more like 14 than 4! She is FULL of energy and loves to be challenged. Some would say she is…spoiled… As a mother who tries to ignore the obvious, I usually reply, “she is not spoiled! She is simply loved!”

Needless to say, holidays that involve gift giving can be a challenge when you feel like your child already has everything! So, this Christmas my mother decided to give her the gift of dance! We decided to enroll her in TuTu Cute Dance & Cheer Studio. The dance instructor is Heather (Crenwelge) Brown, born and raised right here in Fredericksburg where she attended St. Mary’s and graduated from FHS in 2005. Her love and passion for dance, cheer, and tumbling began in her early years of childhood. She has won numerous awards at dance competitions at both the regional and national levels, and this success has driven her towards opening her own studio here in Fredericksburg in late 2011.

Do you have a child that likes a little bit of everything, like I do? No worries! TuTu Cute offers a wide variety of classes, including tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop, lyrical, tumbling and cheerleading. Private lessons are also available for those ages that are interested in tryouts for cheer or pep squads.

 

The dance studio allows the children to view themselves in the huge mirror (something my daughter loves!) and is roomy enough to lay down large mats to practice a variety of tumbling. The windows are adorned with hot pink Toole, tutus! What a super cute idea!

There is an area for students to put their shoes and other items safely away in cubby holes instead of on the floor where they might stumble upon them.  

My little ballerina comes home excited to show off new dance and tumbling moves every Wednesday evening! Mrs. Heather is fun, energetic, and instills confidence in her students. We look forward to more lessons and future dance recitals at TuTu Cute. What a great “gift” idea!
